For those of you who humble in the dark looking for Sat Nav map update, like most of us start to search online here's the deal:
1\ first you need to upgrade the firmware aka train version e.g. MIB 1, MIB 2, etc.
2\ even if you currently have sat nav enabled in your car the maps are bundled with a license with allows you to upgrade only for a few years after the car was produced. Full stop.
3\ injecting a new license (eventually lifetime) is the first hurdle. Techinically it can be done via patching and the procedure is different from unit to unit ...
4\ If this prerequisite is resolved, in theory you can have the latest map installed as long as there is no conflict with the firmware aka train version and/or existing hardware e.g. the map must be compatible with your existing car hardware.
Last, if still in doubt a dealer should be able to clarify what is the latest map version your car can support.
Good luck with your quest!
