No Start neither rescue mode

Hi,

I tried to install OSCAM and apparently crashed something
My dreambox refuses to restart and I can't access the REscue menu

I start (power button + push the front start button) but a red exclamation mark displays and nothing happens

And when I can pass the red exclamation mark the power button flashes red and the osd screen remains "black", does not enter in Rescue mode

Could somebody support me to go to the Rescue menu in order to reflash?

I need "rescue" :-)

1. on backside Power Swich off
2. on backside Power Swich on
3. one second later press finger on red LED (ca. 10 sek)
4. recure Mode is on and shows the URL on display

Hi again - the dreambox and the OSCAM now work well - thank you to this forum which explained me all (considering I start from 0)

I have an issue and wants to know if it's hardware or software.
The DM worked well this morning, I put stand by when left to my job.
When I came back from work it was not working and displayed a "Red exclamation mark".
Impossible to start/restart, enter in rescue mode, connect through network.
The red exclamation mark displayed each time I push the back button.
Finally, after I just touched a little the HDMI cable (unplug - replug), it accepted to start normally
Any idea? Should I activate guarantee?

Hi,

I changed the cable, but after having worked fine yesterday night, I found it out coming back from job.
Again, impossible to start (red exclamation mark) and when I try the rescue mode the button blink then red exclamation mark.
No network, no idea... I'm going to ask for a replacement or somebody would have an idea?

I just read that „Red exclamation mark“ indicates a genuine Problem (Software issue as I understood it).
You might need to flash the rescue loader. For more detailed help contact Ghost or Reichi on dreambox.de.
The best you post a serial Log while the „Red exclamation mark“ Problem comes up and post it there.

I also wantl to say that the first startup of the Dreambox displayed a red exclamation mark. I removed the HDD and it started. (Of course I also tried after without the HDD without success).

I am ready to post whatever you want ;-)
But could you tell me how to get this serial log /and where it is : When I push the start button, the Red mark appears after 2 sec. The dreambox is not visible on my network (I have nothing to get it)

What image do you have on the box?

With DreamOS and OpenATV I have no problems with the internal hard disk or the NAS

On the back you have socket that looks like a Micro USB. This need to be connected to a serial or USB port on your PC.
Than you need a Telnet Client like Link nur für registrierte und freigeschaltete Mitglieder sichtbar. that can handle serial ports.

You might need a Link nur für registrierte und freigeschaltete Mitglieder sichtbar. for you PC to recognize this connection. Should also be in the database.
When putty is configured for the serial connection it should be enough to switch the Box on. The Log should then show up on putty.

But if you can make it happen, that the box boots up into the Image, you could manually flash the rescue loader.
So if you are successful on booting, leave Box alone and just connect via Telnet.

download loader Link nur für registrierte und freigeschaltete Mitglieder sichtbar. to your PC and copy it to /tmp/ on your box.
Then the command to flash the rescue loader is:

ich kann so gut wie kein englisch und den Google übersetzer tu ich mir nicht an
so wie ich das rauslese soll er den rescue loader vom 12.12 installieren
wenn ja >>> der zeigt am tv nix an und im Display nicht das was man braucht
